Happy Halloween!!!
No, I haven't given up blogging, or picture taking. We're all fine, just a little overwhelmed by life. I might get around to posting some summer/moving pictures one of these days. But I thought I'd get back into the swing of things with an easy one: the annual costume-fest!
Max's pick this year was Peter Pan. He got to show it off to his friends at school Thursday. Oddly, the teachers elected to take their compensatory vacation day on Friday....
Wednesday, they did Chinese masks at school. We took a walk by the park on the way home and saw...
Turtles sunning themselves. (It was around seventy degrees, yes. It hit seventies again today, which was kind of freaky. Also, it didn't rain, which makes this the first time we've ever gone trick-or-treating without umbrellas!)
Also ducks and geese, of course. I'm not sure they're going to leave for the winter. So far, they haven't had a lot of incentive. It's gotten below freezing once, which Max loved, but only once.
Woody, at Max's request, wore her now-traditional "Aloha Witch" outfit to answer the door. Despite relatively high traffic around the neighborhood, and my students' assurance that we'd need "loads" of candy, I'm going to have to take most of it into the office to distract them from their grades on Monday. Max, however, brought home a good yield, and got lots of very nice comments on his costume.
