Summer Theater
The first half of the summer, it seems, was taken up with Max's theater camps: a two-week broadway revue camp and a one-week mini-camp with singing, dancing and acting.
For the first camp, they did a half-hour show with bits and pieces from several generations of song-and-dance theater. Max's crew had a bit from the 1920s ("Varsity Drag") and "So Long, Farewell" as the closer, plus everyone in the camp did "Wells Fargo Wagon" as a group number in the middle. They also did some cute introduction skits: Max got to utter the immortal segue, "And now for something completely different." These pictures are frame captures from video, part of our recent explorations into video editing:

The grand farewell
The theme of the mini-camp was "Surfin'" ("Surfin' USA" and "Surfer Girl" were the songs) so they ended with a surfer pose: Though Max missed the first two days, he still had fun and got to be friends with some of the kids: In academic theater, I went out to southern California and had a lovely conference: I've got a few of the pictures here:
