The big news is that Max, after settling down secure in his knowledge of the alphabet for a year or more, is really working on reading. He's been spelling stuff he sees for us so we can tell him what it says, and the other night we got out Hop On Pop and he refused to stop until the book was done. He's also getting into "chapter books": inspired by a school play, we've worked through The Phantom Tollbooth four times now. I don't think Wind in the Willows is going to catch on (can't blame a guy for tryin') but we're halfway through Stuart Little, which we just picked up today! |
