Honolulu Day Two: Zoo We started off the second day with a trip to the Zoo, which was walking distance from the hotel. We almost didn't need the rental car, honestly, but I didn't want to have to rely on taxis (and we couldn't have done the train ride the last day without the car!).

Highlight, of course, was the Children's Zoo area, complete with a crawl-through fish tank and goat-petting-enclosure. And if it weren't for the elephant, I'm not sure we'd have gotten Max out of the canoe...

Later that day we went over to the Hilton to hear Max's Hawaiiana teacher play at one of the outdoor cafes there. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that the Hilton fancies itself a little zoo, too
