Simple Aesthetics
Here's a bunch of pictures that aren't easy classified in any of my usual categories.
Start off with some flowers. This is a gardenia I took on my way over to the admin building on campus.
These are all over the place at Max's school. This one is slightly wilted, but it makes the picture perfect, somehow.
In the "things I notice now" category: the color/texture contrast is great, and I love the rustic and rough quality. The fibers are from a coconut shell, I'm pretty sure.
Another shot from Max's school (I'm around there a lot -- sometimes waiting for Woody while she does music with the kids -- and I carry a camera, yeah). It's got a Photography 101 quality to it, I know, but I still like it. I tried B&W filters on it, but it's not the same without the color.
Without a doubt, this is one of the finest pictures I've ever taken. The rain was just getting going, and rising in the little gully at the front end of the carport. Great moment, great light, lucky shot.
This was at a birthday party for one of the kids in Max's class. Woody ended up playing mostly old standards for the grownups. Love the smile, of course.
