Shots in the Dark
I love a challenge.

 | We went over to our friends the Mleyneks for July 4th, and one of their other friends brought along some pretty substantial fireworks, and some poppers and sparklers, which Max had great fun with. |
 | I don't think Max was trying to spell his name, but the effect is pretty cute. |
 | I love long-shutter effects. |
 | Bottle Rockets. I took a lot of pictures trying to get these trails. The fountain sparklers below were easier.... well, they weren't going anywhere. |

 | This was one of the "big ones" that Tim had, a whole series of really pretty starbursts. |
 | This was one of the starbursts from the "official" display. We got to the observation point a bit late, but we did see the finale. And we'd seen a bunch up close, so we didn't feel too deprived. |
 | One of those "Where did you find that and does it really still work?" toys, a souvenir from last October's Medieval Faire. Max ended up using the colors in the lights as the template for one of his recent photoshop sessions. |
 | Jupiter, and two moons, as seen through our home telescope. I was having a devil of a time getting the camera to capture images through the scope. This was the best of the Jupiter shots. |
 | The reason I got the scope out in the first place was the full moon. It was frustrating (I know, all I have to do is spend a few hundred bucks for the right equipment....) but this was the best shot I got. |
