  Kansas City, Here I Come!
The first leg of our travels was in Kansas City, where we stayed with Echo and Karin.
Max was, of course, hoping to see snow on this trip -- for the first time in two years -- and there was indeed snow on the ground when we got there.
Some of the snow was crusty and icy, which was perfect for tossing about and other experiments.
Max has also never gotten to help decorate a Christmas Tree, so they left a few ornaments off for him to finish up with.
They did a Santa Lucia thing at Max's school, but it was in the older grades. But Karin remembered that they had some Santa Lucia robes and electric candle wreath, so Max got to be Santa Lucia for Solstice.
Also at Solstice, we took turns restringing Woody's Mala Bead necklace, with all the original beads we could recover and spares from a -- coincidentally -- broken bracelet we ran into at Vulcan's Forge.
The particular version of Father Christmas that Karin is reading is on the grumpy side, but very cute.
Woody and Echo, hanging out while Max plays on the toys at Crowne Center.
If you look close, you can see the reflection of the group of us -- that's me on the right -- standing just in front of the toy fire truck.
